In 2003 Jill J. Burns, along with Anne Dickinson, co-founded The Fire Works Studios in Worcester, MA. They built a gas fired car kiln and created a suite of twelve artist studios in an old sprinkler factory. The studio is equipped with gas and electric kilns, glaze lab and a meeting area. Jill and Anne also invited other ceramic artists to use the facility, and established a ceramic community which is so vital to the creative process. The Fire Works Studio is now twenty-five strong . The Fire Works is located in the character filled Rockwood Sprinkler Factory on Harlow Street in Worcester, MA. It’s a big old building with an eclectic mix of artists and small businesses. |
